Hello, and welcome to the very first post on my brand new “Broken Legs” blog.
First off, why Broken Legs? Well, everyone knows the phrase “Break a leg”, which is said to actors prior to a performance. If the phrase is true, then I have witnessed many actors breaking legs over the past few years (and broken a few myself!) and I hope to see many more broken legs in the future!
This blog is a spin-off from my previous reviews on the Elemental Theatre Company blog – and I’ve copied all my previous reviews from there so that there is a record of all the shows I’ve seen since I started reviewing in 2019.
This blog will be the new home for all upcoming reviews – which will include a whole range of theatre: Shakespeare, comedies, musicals, West End, amateur, anything and everything that I see.
There will also be various features – I’ll rank my favourite shows, I’ll talk about the different groups I’m part of (currently Nottingham Rebels, the Making it up improv group, and Elemental Theatre).
I’m excited to see lots of new theatre in 2023 and beyond – and excited for you to join me on the journey!
